Sorority Life
So I am doing something that I vowed to never ever do in my life; I am pledging to be in a sorority.
I can hear every *gasp!* from right here in front of my laptop.
Truth is, I am not joining because i'm some sort of preppy-abercrombie-wielding-conformist who uses "like" in every sentence. My true reason for joining was solely for the experience of it all. I would like to know what it's REALLY like to pledge for a sorority, if they really do haze you, if it is anything like the show "Sorority Life" (remember that show? I sure do!). I'm kind of like an investigative reporter, if you will. haha.
But thus far, it really hasn't been that bad. I haven't been hazed, thank God for that! ...oh, and it's NOTHING like "Sorority Life." haha. Maybe it has to do with the fact that I chose the "nice" sorority that had all the people that I already know including my close friend in it. I'm just smart like that. The sorority is Alpha Sigma Tau, by the way. Our colors are emerald green and gold and our flower is the yellow rose. As a matter of fact, they gave me a cute little yellow rose as a gift on the night that I found out I was going to be a pledge.
I was ribboned two weeks ago and supposedly have a Big Sister now. Of course, I have no idea who this Big Sister is with all this secretiveness going on...but I do have an idea. hehe. Oh, and I also got a cute little Valentine from my anchoring Big Sister (which is like a "temporary" Big Sister) and that was nice.
One thing that's a wee bit irritating about this sorority business is the fact that SO much work goes into it! I really didn't think it would be that bad...but nevertheless, join a sorority, and you WILL be busy. I've been pretty busy myself these past few weeks. When i'm in class, I could barely keep my eyes open because i'm so fatigued from all that work...yea, it's that bad.
